Love Markets Not Products

Love is a strange emotion.  It completely captivates us and impassions us towards action.  However, it has a blinding grip on us at times as well.

In your business, love will pull you.  Love for what you do.  Love for what you sell.  Love for what you create.  These are the traits of an artist.  Being anything less than an artist leaves much to be wanting for your customer.  They want the artist in you.  They want to see the extra mile, the finer touches and the passion.

However, treating your art as business requires a love for markets, not products.  It is what Andy Warhol discovered, “Being good in business is the most fascinating kind of art. Making money is art and working is art and good business is the best art.”

The world is changing so fast that it is dizzying.  Be agile and alert enough to notice the appetites that markets have and meet the appetite by continually repurposing products and services.  Having the right kind of love can make your endeavors profitable rather than frustrating.  Love markets, not products.
