Value And Time

Confusing effort with results is commonplace with the undiscerning person. You may have spent your career understanding a subject matter and can move at light speed compared to others with common knowledge.

When I see a person handle a business deal with finesse and professionalism in 5 minutes, I understand that is likely 20 years of experience and value densely packed into this show. The ability to tact, flow and drive towards a mutual deal is not something that a person who has not paid the price can simply do.

As our economy continually cuts the fat and increasingly becomes more of a meritocracy, think about where your 5 minute shows come with ease. It’s your sweet spot of value. The challenge then is to ensure that there is recognition and monetization of your value.
