Choosing Makes You A Leader

When it is not necessary to make a decision, it is necessary not to make a decision.
Making a decision can be scary. But it is the point of leadership. From weesen’s Flickr photostream.

Though we have an abundance of choices and technologies, we have a scarcity of leadership today. Ultimately, you have to make a choice about what you will do or what your team will do or what is good for your customer.

When you put a stake in the ground, it can be scary and unnerving. It’s a commitment. You could fail. That fear of failure can be paralyzing. However, if you dare to push against that old industrial mindset to deflect blame and play it safe, you will likely be further commoditizing yourself in an age where fear is abundant.

When you choose and pursue a path, it makes you a leader. And leadership is what the world is desperately seeking these days.

What are you choosing with each opportunity that presents itself?
