There are things that make noise and make no impact. It doesn’t take talent to:
… point out what’s not working
… wait for someone to do something
… rely on other people’s kindness
… copy what others are doing
… talk louder and more often than others
The world has gotten much flatter and we are interacting around talent. That’s why it’s important to make sure you create lift in your business and life rather than drag. Look for the nuggets, the diamonds in the rough. It takes talent to:
… find creative ways to solve problems
… boldly experiment around an idea
… know what to do and make the call
… connect in a human way and be in the moment
… manage and move information with speed and dexterity
As the old saying goes, don’t confuse effort with results. That goes for the illusion of talent and actual talent.
