Details Come Second

Ask better questions

What do you want?

How do you win?

What is a bigger vision?

These are first questions and they take honesty, boldness and complete personal responsibility. They represent risk. Asking second questions,

How much does it cost?

Where are we going to get the resources?

What if we fail?

How does this affect what we have?

may protect you from failure, but they don’t help much when you are trying to open things up and make ideas happen. They are merely details and they can be solved if you commit to first questions first.

If you started with the premise that all problems are solvable, it might open up immense opportunities for you.

If you start with the idea that you have to address every detail first, then don’t be surprised when you don’t see things moving for yourself.

Details do matter, but it’s not necessarily where you start.
