6 Tips for Life and Business

friends

I have over 1,500 Apple Notes, and I was going through some timeless ones that I think would be helpful resources. Here are 6 tips for life and business:

  1. How to Develop the Situational Awareness of Jason BourneObserve, Orient, Decide and Act (OODA). Cycle through this fast to get results quickly. Also, stay in condition yellow.
  2. Derek Sivers on How to Thrive in an Unknowable Future. Plan for the worst. Expect disaster. Own as little as possible. Depend on even less. Choose opportunity, not loyalty. Choose the plan with the best options. (And here is his latest podcast with Tim Ferriss this week about the greatest year of his life.)
  3. Questions for a New Entrepreneur. Seth Godin asks fair, clarifying questions. I like, “What’s your role? Do you want to be a  freelancer, an entrepreneur or a business owner?”
  4. Productivity tip. Use a forcing function to create urgency and get things done.
  5. Keep a logbook. Instead of a journal, can use this simple approach to track and think about what you are doing each day.
  6. Powerful graph on your client relationships. Think about how your interactions are happening and how to add more value with strategic thinking:

And Bonus Tip: Invest time in great friendships! I am so grateful for our long-term friendships with fellow entrepreneurs and adventurous people. (like those pictured above!)
