My Wife Makes My Life Rich

Sonya and I have been married 26 years today! We are having fun, in love and looking at what is next.

We just got back from 8 days in California starting in Laguna Beach, where we relaxed and took in God’s restorative beauty on the beach. We headed up the Pacific Coast Highway and saw wildlife, explored coastal towns, partook of wine tastings and ate at wonderful restaurants for brunches and dinners.

We are thinking about the future. Our kids are adults and launching. We have worked hard for many years to provide a life of adventure and freedom for our family.

What’s next? I am thinking that we may be traveling more, working in new ways and seeking larger ways to contribute. The downtime helped us to get the rest and refreshment our weary souls needed. We have had a hard couple of years, but the wonderful thing about life is, “this too shall pass.”

I love Sonya’s curiosity. She loves exploring and experiencing new scenes, foods, people and culture. Wherever we go, she easily makes friends with strangers. She is always giving to others and encouraging people to be the best version of themselves.

On our trip, we were talking about all the joys of raising our kids. We are proud of who they are as people. They are smart, witty, adventurous and playful young adults.

We talked a lot about the future. We have a lot of gas in our tanks and we want to spend it well. We had focused heavily on our health these last few years and feel both vitality and excitement. The work paid off.

I feel immensely grateful for the years of marriage and friendship with Sonya. I think anyone who wants deeper meaning and joy who has a wonderful companion in life will feel likewise.

I love you to the moon, Sonya!
