Without Your Health You Can’t Perform

Hi friends, this is a bi-weekly newsletter sharing tips and strategies for my subscribers and friends to grow their businesses.

What would happen if your health went to rock bottom? I have had the great fortune of having days of robust health for many years. However, that has not always been a given.

After COVID, all of a sudden, my blood pressure was at 150/100, and I could not get it down. I was worried. I needed to slow down, think about what was happening, and figure out what I could do. Sonya and I took off to Laguna Beach, CA hoping to reset my stress levels. I had not had a vacation in years, and I needed that time to decompress and take a step back from life and work.

I wanted to avoid taking any meds because of side effects and unintended consequences, so I did some research.

I am a strategy guy. I like finding root causes and implementing systems that put all kinds of good outcomes into play. I learned that a simple habit of walking for 20 minutes right when I wake up, 10 minutes after breakfast and lunch, and 20 minutes after dinner could greatly improve my blood pressure and overall health. So, I tried it, and I’ve been doing it daily now for over three years!

My health turned around. My body feels so much better. My mind is more relaxed. My blood pressure normalized to 120/80. And, the habit is easy, lifelong and foundational to so many other open doors of fitness and fun for my life.

We have had other issues come up for our family, and we have been on a journey to understanding underlying issues in our genetics that contribute to our ability to convert energy, detox and fight disease. We have had intense battles with our bodies, mental health and even spiritual encounters.

But, I count it all joy! As we are learning, we have been sharing resources with friends. And, we have seen turnarounds for so many people based on information and insights on how to be healthy.

Without health, we can’t get much done in our work lives, much less in our ability to enjoy our days.

I want to be old, vibrant, and enjoy my friends throughout my life. I hope some of the resources below can get you going on your own health journey, if not for immediate remedies, then for getting ahead of issues that are lurking underneath.

And here’s a new resource of my own that we just published: How to Build a Rich Life: Learn 5 Strategies to build freedom and wealth for yourself, your business, and your family. This guide includes tips on practical things you can do for your career, health, and family to live a life full of abundance, joy, and peace.

Tips and Strategies

  • Know your genetic mutations. We all have them, and when we don’t understand what is missing in our systems, we are exposed to disease and suffering. You may have inflammation that you think is normal. Or you might not detox well, thus, you are building up toxicity in your body. Dr. Kendal Stewart out of Austin, TX can help you with his neurosensory team. Either pay for insight and some customized remedies or pay thousands later in sickness. It’s worth the ounce of prevention. Here is Kashif Khan explaining how he reversed 5 diseases through understanding his genetics.
  • Here’s the information on walking that changed my health. Just need to make it a habit. It’s sustainable. Also, your all cause mortality, your chance of dying, can be reduced by up to 53%! Simply reducing your insulin reaction can help you avoid diabetes and other serious health conditions.
  • Gary Brecka saved Dana White’s life. See how Dana White moved off meds and lived healthy by giving his body the raw materials he was missing. Again, DNA and understanding mutations.
  • Get a Calcium Scan done now! This checks for risk for stroke or heart disease. It’s cheap and fast. Heart disease is the number one killer. I got mine done in 15 minutes and had no blockages.
  • Take Algae tablets daily. It’s a superfood that helps with all kinds of disease. Here’s a podcast educating on it.
  • And don’t forget to download my free guide: How to Build a Rich Life. What does a “rich” life look like for you?

Cool Products

  • Altra Running Shoes. I have road, trail and walk around shoes. I love how my toes spread out and there’s a zero drop heel to stretch my achilles! Tested in the mountains.
  • Vuori Activewear. Our family has so much of this clothing. It’s comfortable and stylish. I can move from business meetings right into a hike, tennis or gym workout! It’s a bit pricey, but you will want to wear your Vuori clothes all the time.
  • Start your day with Athletic Greens. Sonya and I drink this right after our morning walk to start our days with nutrition and vital vitamins and minerals. High quality sourcing, and I feel fantastic.
  • Eat Bacon! I have worked with these guys, and they are a fantastic brand. The bacon is the best I have had. You can get it at the grocery store or at Snooze eateries. I’ve been learning to get rid of carbs and eat much more protein. The performance and overall health I feel has been markedly improved.

Leadership Thought

If you are building a business as an entrepreneur, here’s what I have found to be true:

“You should be working on your product and getting product-market fit, and you should be exercising and eating healthy. That’s about it.” – Paul Graham

An added thought about what matters by Robert Ringer:

“Since I’ve become semi-normal, I’ve been fascinated by the reality that very few things in daily life really matter that much; i.e., most things simply don’t have the potential to make a significant impact on the quality of a person’s life. Now my first objective every morning is to eliminate as many projects as possible. Hands down, the fastest way to complete any task is to simply cross it off your To Do list. However, even if it isn’t feasible to eliminate a project, you should still make it a habit to simplify it and get it off your desk as quickly as possible. A little discipline like allowing yourself to handle a piece of paper only once can have a major impact on the quality of your results—and your life.”
